Lucy Steymel was originally a Texan singer / cellist who arrived in the Netherlands at the age of 23, after having lived in Germany. She played in “The Playground”, a show of Ramses Shaffy for a while. Steymel was discovered by Harry Sacksioni with whom she made an album in 1977. After the second album “Goodbye To Gray” she performed as a duo with banjo player Hans Elzinga. Steymel participated in the National Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. She died on February 27, 2006.
