Jan Corduwener
and His New Sound
Johannes (Jan) Corduwener was born in Leiden on July 14, 1911. Among other things, he worked as a violinist with the Tuschinski orchestra. In 1945 he became a violinist and accordionist in the Metropole Orchestra. In 1950 he joined the VARA as a conductor. Corduwener is known by the Corduwener quartet and the Ballroom Orchestra. He passed away on March 11, 1966.
