To accompany the exhibition in London’s O2
Fans of the King will no longer need to make the 4,300-mile pilgrimage to Graceland to get a detailed insight into the life of rock n’ roll legend Elvis Presley. Now extended until January 2016, fans will be able to see over 300 items on display at London’s O2 documenting his personal life and meteoric rise to fame in what is the largest Elvis exhibition ever in Europe.
Items of display have been carefully selected from the 1-million strong Gracelands Archive to best represent the key pieces that tell Elvis’s story, including his 1956 Lincoln Car (one of only 3,000 to have been made), trademark outfits like the American Eagle Jumpsuit and cape he wore in the Aloha to Hawaii Concert, the singer’s famous ‘Taking Care of Business’ ring, guitars, records, photos, belts and wallets. There are also more personal items like his school report card and the first Christmas present he was bought by Priscilla. Some of the items have never been exhibited outside of Graceland.
